Ukrainian-Swiss Poetical Tour CULTURALOUTGOING 2х2

This is a strange thing, but actual Ukrainian literature is known in Switzerland much better than the Swiss one is known in Ukraine. And as a general rule we usually perceive Switzerland as a combination of some economical or tourist things, such as banks, welfare, prosperity, watches, cheese, tunnels. One of the most popular images is that this is an extra beautiful and boring country.
But, either Swiss beauty, or its boredom does not interfere modern Swiss writers to do their job: to write wise, piercing and witty things.
Since the 4th till the 9th of September, 2009 a poetical tour "Cultural Outgoing 2х2" will take place in Ukraine, in which two Swiss and two Ukrainian writers will participate. The first time they performed together was in March, at Schlyakhtgaus Theatre stage, which is placed in the capital of Switzerland, Bern. The fact, that the mentioned above Theatre is located in the house of ancient middle-aged butchery, was not in the way of the present tour participants. It is that house that enriched Gans Ruprekht`s project with numerous organizational details and inspired Bern cultural manager to initiate joint Ukrainian tour.
Especially for this tour Yuriy Andruhovich and Sergiy Zhadan are making the interpretation of the both Swiss guests` works. For Ukrainian audience this is the first acquaintance with it, as far as not a single work by Raphael Urweider or Pedro Lenz had been published in Ukraine before. The same works are being performed by the Authors in original version of course. Furthermore both Ukrainian authors perfomed their own works, totally fresh ones.
