“Honor” of Propala Gramota in Kyiv

р

The second album of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi ensemble of fundamental singing and dancing “Propala Gramota” called “Honor” was recorded as early as in spring of 2008 and waited for nearly a year to be released. And it was not in vain cuz the disc was realized by a spiritually close to the musicians recording agency “Taras Bulba Entertaiment”. It’s only fitting that the musicians should release their albums only in a Gogol-style named agency.
The eleven original tracks of “Honor” send the listeners back to the times of a Grandgradma’s adolescence (arrangements of folk songs “Pryimak” and “Karmalyuk”), tell the stories about recent lifetime (“Okhrannik”) and sometimes offer a modern overview of the classics (“Lezhysh vo grobi”). Also there is a place for quite lyrical tracks (“Kyrpata Vesna”, “Na dakhu budynku”). The album consists of chimerical combination of guitar psychedelia of 60s-70s, bossa nova, African polyrhythm and fiery ska and disco.
The realize surprises with its unique decoration and in each CD box fans will find a series of stickers devoted to the themes of the songs from the first album which were illustrated by an artist from Kamyanets-Podilskyi Olexander Gutsalo.

The party participated by a duet of Nina Garenetska (“DakhaBrakha”) and Yana Shpachynska (“4e4e”) in addition to the above mentioned band was held in the gallery “Khudgraph” with support of the ArtPole agency and recording company “Taras Bulba Entertaiment”.
